Limo - No Airport Fees?

Limousine News - The National Limousine Association and the Taxicab, Limousine & Paratransit Association are working aggressively on Capitol Hill in support of legislation that would prohibit airports from charging “any fee (other than a fee charged to the general public for access to or use of any part of the terminal) to any provider of pre-arranged ground transportation service.”At issue is the Real Interstate Driver’s Equity (RIDE) Act (P.L. 107-298), which was signed into law in 2002. The very clear intent of the RIDE Act was to: 1) ensure that interstate providers weren’t subject to numerous state requirements if they met all applicable vehicle and intrastate passenger transportation licensing requirements under state law where they were licensed, and 2) ensure that interstate providers weren’t subject to discriminatory treatment on account of the fact that - or specifically because - they were interstate in nature rather than intrastate providers. As the name of the act - The Real Interstate Driver Equity Act - suggests, the goal was parity with intrastate providers.
